Watching
Browsing your library
Home, libraries, genres, collections and search, in the web player and the server's own web app.
You can browse a Wren TV server in two places:
- watch.wrentv.com, the web player for Wren TV accounts. It works from anywhere and shows every server you can use.
- The server's own web app at
http://<server>:32500. It looks and works the same, and adds the Manage pages for the server's owner and admins.
Both look like the Wren TV apps, and both only show the libraries you have access to.
Home
Home starts with a featured title, then rows:
- Continue Watching: movies and episodes you started, and the next episode of shows you're watching, with how much time is left.
- My Watchlist: movies and shows you saved for later, newest first. Add one with the bookmark button on its page in the Android TV app; it drops off the row once you've watched it.
- Trending this week on TMDB.
- Collection rows the owner chose to put on Home, such as a Halloween collection in October. See collections.
- Recently Added, for each library.
- Top Rated, and a few rows by genre.
On servers with streaming, Home shows all of TMDB instead: a banner that rotates through this week's trending titles, then rows such as popular, new releases and top rated. Any title plays, whether or not the server has it yet. The sidebar then has Movies and TV Shows, which browse TMDB's whole catalog by genre.
Watch progress and history are kept by the server, per account, so they follow you to every device that uses it.
Libraries
Each library is a folder of movies or TV shows. Open one to see everything in it, and sort by Title, Recently added, Year or Rating.
A show's page lists its episodes under a season picker, starting at the season of the next episode to watch. A title's page shows its description, ratings, quality badges (for example 4K, Dolby Vision, Atmos), cast, trailer and similar titles. Above the Play button, a line shows what will play: the Version (a picker when there's more than one file), and the Audio and Subtitles languages from your settings. Partly watched titles offer Resume with the time left, and Start Over.
Genres
Genres lists every genre in your libraries with a backdrop for each. Pick one to see its movies and shows. Genres come from TMDB as titles are matched.
Collections
Collections group titles: a franchise like The Lord of the Rings, a hand-picked "Date Night", or a smart list like "4K movies added this month". If a collection is built from a TMDB list, it can also show the titles your library doesn't have yet. The owner creates collections. See Collections.
Search
Search finds movies, shows and episodes by title across every library you can see. In the web player, open it from the search box at the top.
Ratings
Titles show their TMDB rating. If the owner added an OMDb key, IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores show too.
