Watching
Downloads
Save movies and episodes to your Mac or computer and watch them without a connection.
If the server's owner allows it, movies and episodes have a Download button. A download is the original file, at full quality, with every audio and subtitle track. Titles the server streams can be downloaded too.
In the Mac app
- On a movie or episode, choose Download. On a season, choose Download Season next to the season picker, or right-click an episode.
- Follow progress under This Mac → Downloads in the sidebar. Downloads pause and resume, and pick up where they left off after a restart or a dropped connection.
- Play a download from Downloads (double-click it), or from the title's Downloaded menu. It plays even with no connection to the server; when you're back online, your progress syncs.
- Without a connection, the sign-in screen offers Watch Downloads, and Window → Downloads (⌥⌘J) opens them from anywhere.
Downloads are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Wren TV/Downloads. Remove one with the trash button or
Remove Download; the title stays on the server.
In the web app
On a movie or episode, choose Download. Your browser saves the file. For a streamed title that hasn't been played yet, the button shows Finding a stream… first. The link works for 24 hours.
Limits
The owner chooses whether you can download and how many downloads you can run at once. If you hit the limit, the Mac app waits and continues automatically. See Users and sharing.
