Wren TV accounts

A Wren TV account is an email address and password. It's what you sign in with at watch.wrentv.com and in the apps, and it's how server owners share with you. One account works with any number of servers.

When you create an account we email you to confirm the address. Every Wren TV email (confirming your address, signing in with a code, resetting your password, changing your email) has a link and a 6-digit code. Use whichever is easier: the link opens watch.wrentv.com, and the code can be typed into the app or page that asked for it. Both expire after an hour and work once. If an email doesn't arrive, check spam, then use Send a new email. We also email you when your password or email address changes.

Some servers use local accounts instead: a username and password that only exist on that server, used in the server's own web app at http://<server>:32500. If someone gave you a username rather than inviting your email, that's what you have. See how Wren TV works.

Playback languages

Open Settings in the web player (or Your settings in the server's web app) to choose:

  • Preferred audio language, or File's default track.
  • Subtitles: Off, or a language to turn them on in.

These are saved on the server for your account, so they apply in the apps too. If you use several servers, set them on each. They take effect the next time you press play. See Playback for how the track is chosen.

Invitations

To share a server with you, its owner adds your email address. Wren TV doesn't email you about it, so they'll usually tell you themselves. The invite turns into access the next time you sign in with that address: create a Wren TV account with it if you don't have one. If you're already signed in, choose Check again on the server list.

The owner chooses which libraries you see, and can change that or remove you at any time.

Leaving a server

To stop seeing a server that was shared with you, ask its owner to remove you. Your watch history on that server stays on that server.

Privacy

Your watch history, progress and settings live on each server you use, not with Wren TV. The owner of a server can see what's played on it on their dashboard, as with any media server.
